What You Can Do To Protect Your Heart!

80% of heart disease is preventable by simple lifestyle changes. The earlier you take steps to protect your heart, the better. Plaque build up in your arteries can start in your 20's and 30's, but it usually takes decades to get severe enough to trigger a heart attack.
Protect your heart by watching your waistline. Women, keep your waistline under 35", and men, keep yours under
40".
Get plenty of exercise. Lack of exercise is now one of the major risk factors for heart disease. The American Heart
Association recommends at least 2 1/2 hours of exercise a week.
Don't smoke. Did you know that women who smoke risk having a heart attack 19 years earlier tha
n a non smoker?
Maintaining a healthy diet is key. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and keep trans fats and saturated fats to a minimum.
