Should You Have To Pay Extra For Being Fat?

Airlines are starting to charge extra for passengers who are obese.
Southwest Airlines now requires any passenger whose body prevents them from lowering their arm
rest that divides the seats, to buy an extra ticket. Southwest says it implemented the policy because of complaints of passengers who had to sit next to fat people. Other airlines are implementing similar policies. Obese people claim that a federal law preventing airlines from discriminating against people with disabilities-should apply to them too. What do you think? Should obese passengers have to buy two seats when they fly? Would you want to sit next to a fat person when you fly?

Get That Sunscreen Ready!

Summer is finally here. You need to remember to be careful about exposing yourself to the sun. The depletion of the ozone has led to an increase in harmful ultraviolet rays. There are 2 types of rays--UVA and UVB. UVB is what burns you. UVA is what causes damage a couple of layers down, causing premature aging.
There are more products on the market
with higher SPF (sun protection factor) but that
doesn't mean it works twice as good. An SPF
of 30 blocks out 96% of the UV rays. An SPF
of 60 blocks out 98%. Find a sunscreen that
protects you from both UVA and UVB rays.

20 Minutes After You Quit Smoking

Millions of people continue to struggle with their smoking habit. Are you? Or someone you love? You may want to consider this information...
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

20 minutes after you quit smoking, your heart rate drops.
12 hours after you quit, the carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal.
2-3 weeks after you quit, your heart attack risk drops and your lung function begins to improve.
1 month after you quit, your coughing and shortness of breath decreases.
1 year after you quit, your risk of heart disease is
1/2 that of when you were smoking.
5 years after you quit, your stroke risk is reduced to that of a nonsmoker.
15 years after you quit, your risk of heart disease is back to that of a nonsmoker.

It's the most valuable thing on Earth.
All the money in the world can't buy it.
Those who have it don't always appreciate it.
Those who have lost it will do anything to get it back.

Big Bellies Are Unhealthy!

You may be able to cover up that big belly, but you cannot hide from the health risks. Study after study shows that it increases your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer and diabetes. Women whose waists are bigger than 35" are twice as likely to die from heart disease according to the National Institute of Health. You may not have a weight problem except for your belly--but that is a big problem. Belly fat is so dangerous because it lies deep in your abdomen, surrounds your organs and secretes toxic hormones. Cutting just 100 calories a day from your diet will help you to lose 12 lbs. in a year which will help you to lose that belly fat.

Is It Better To Exercise In The Morning Or Later In The Day?

The bottom line is a calorie burned is a calorie burned, whether it's in the morning or evening. Choose a workout time that fits into your schedule. If your mornings are crammed, a more realistic plan for you may be to exercise during lunch or in the evening after work or dinner. If you want to burn fat, you need to do 40-45 minutes of moderate to intense exercise at least 4 days a week, no matter what time of day you decide to do it. Scheduling your workouts as appointments can help you to stay on track. You can also break your exercise into segments. Two 20 minute segments are just as effective as 40 minutes all at once.
